Birds flight movement was first studied to find the ratio and timing of the birds movements when it flies. This data was then taken to Fusion 360 where the basic bone structure was modelled to get grip the relative size of the model. Solid mechanics was then use to determine gear ratio and linkage size to match the timing of an actual bird. This was finally taken back into Fusion where using the gear and linkage modelling system finishing the CAD, and then printing it using a FDM printer on PLA.
Fly Birdie
A 3D printed Automation of a bird flying away from fire, all generated from the motion of one handcrank.
